Creating a New PIM User
Users with Administrator permissions can create other PIM users in just a few moments by following these steps.
- After logging in, navigate to the Settings > Users > Users menu from the main PIM menu on the left hand side.
- From the Users page, select Create User, located in the upper right corner.
- Fill the information fields with the new user's name and email address. Note: All fields are required.
- Click Create. The user will be sent an email to verify their email address, setup a password and confirm their account.
- You may manually confirm their account and specify a password for them if you wish by clicking into the user you've created from the user list.
- New users will not have any roles assigned to them in the beginning and you as an administrator will have to specify a role for them.
Roles and Permissions
The PIM supports an unlimited number of Roles sets that control the access privileges to the PIM. These Roles are comprised of a combination of Permissions. Administrators have the ability to create Roles by default.
Creating a Role
To create a new role in the PIM follow the steps below. You must be an administrator or have the ability to edit users assigned to you.
- Navigate to Settings > Users > Roles from the main PIM menu on the left hand side.
- From the Roles page, select Create Role in the upper right corner.
- Give the role a name and a display name.
- Choose from the list of available permissions (full list at the bottom).
- Save the Role.
Assigning a Role to a User
New users will not have any roles assigned to them in the beginning and will require at least one in order to access areas of the PIM. Administrators have full access to all available permissions. To assign a Role to a user, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Settings > Users menu to see the list of available users.
- Locate the desired user and click View from the right hand side.
- From the user edit page, you can click on the roles you'd like to assign to the user.
- When finished, click Save User.
Default Permissions
Here is a list of the default permissions. NOTE: This list is for the default available permissions for PIM. Enterprise clients may see different permissions depending on enabled features.
